Book Review on "Vicious" by V.E. Schwab

"Vicious" by V.E. Schwab is a fantasy genre and an engaging story.

About the Story:

The story whirls around "Victor" and "Eli", initially they were good friends and later turned out to be the best enemies. They both were involved in a project about super natural powers, gradually they ended up as an “Extra ordinary’s”,(meaning persons with supernatural powers).

Eli considers “EO’s” as a threat for the society, hence he decides to kill all the existing EO’s with the help of Serena. Serena being an EO herself aids help from the police department for hunting the EO’s one by one through their special database.

In this mission of EO massacre, even Sydney, Serena's younger sister founds to be a victim. How Eli assassinates the EO’s? and what happens to their life, goes the rest of the story.

Will Eli accomplish his mission of EO massacre? Will Serena and Sydney join again as a family? Will Sydney survive this mission? Will this battle end, who will survive Victor or Eli?  Lies the suspense of the story.

About the book:

The book is so interesting, but I felt initial chapters were bit confusing as we cannot connect the flow, but then you can relate the knots of the story. The story speaks about supernatural powers that one possess, and they become an "Extra Ordinary" in short called as "EO".

All the characters has their own importance, each EO's super power was differentiated and utilized in the story. It makes us intrigued to think beyond whether the EO's exist, if yes, how they would look like all these thoughts revolves around us.

I like Victor's character, as he is not so heroic or not a villain type but a person who balances the entire story with his practical approach, and Serena for her super power. Controlling one's thought is something everyone craves for, but that doesn’t happen. Here Serena's power of making other to listen and do things as per her instruction creates an anxiety among the readers.

Overall, I enjoyed this fantasy tale.

I would rate 4.5 for this remarkable novel.

Review on "Just married missed by Himanshu Bhatia"

Just Married Missed by Himanshu Bhatia is a debut novel.

About the Story:

The story whirls around Sid, Shreya and Shivam. Even though marriages are fixed by checking for horoscopes and compatibilities we often forget fate decides its own probability and “Marriages are made in heaven”.

Sid meets Shreya through a Matrimonial site where things goes smooth, they both met each other shared their values and Sid started adoring Shreya. She brings a change in Sid’s programmatic life.

And there comes Shivam, she thinks him as a flirt initially but soon gets attracted by Shivam and falls for him. But Shivam already is in love with Kanika, but their marriage was left behind due to their parent’s disapproval.

The meetup with Shivam, and their first date made Shreya much more attracted, parallelly her marriage with Sid was fixed by their parents. A sudden tragic happens were Shivam encounters an accident. There are so many twists and turns in the story likely enjoyable.

Is Shreya destined to Sid or Shivam? Will Kanika marry Shivam? Will Shivam survive the accident? What if fate divides them? Lies the suspense of the story.

About the book:

It’s a trio love story. The plot of the story is good, and flow was smooth. The characters were well designed and played their part in place.

The language is simple and intact, and the pacing is good. This book is more kind off filmy stuff rather than a novel.

I likes Shivam’s character as he was more into empathy and an understanding character. Moreover, a trio love story as their own puzzle ending which is unpredictable.

I would like to give 3.5 star for this beguile novel and recommend for all who read “Romance” genre.

Will the hydel power project be a successful one? Will Rekha and Khusuru be destined together? Will Khusuru be accused for terrorism? What fate is decided for the three? Lies the suspense of the story.

About the book:

The story is well written, and the pacing is intact. There are too many characters whirls around the novel, but each one as their own uniqueness. The author has made the story with perfect synchronizing effect. Each loose end has a connection and finally forms a complete fiction work.

Those lines written while watching the Dhauladhar peak impressed me a lot. I felt the winter all over the book and made me feel its chillness.

The author had put so much effort to write this story as it has minute details of each scenario is well explained, when it comes the project it is detailed, each character’s visibility is clear and overall bonding is perfect.

It is more into technical side of describing the dam’s constructions, its equipment’s the labours, deaths and natural hazards gives a swirly effect.
I would rate ☆☆☆☆ for this divergent novel.

Review on "The thirteenth tale by Diane Setterfield"

The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield is a debut novel and a gothic fiction
About the Story:
The story whirls around protagonist Margaret Lea and her research for writing biographies. She lives with her parents and works in a bookshop owned by her father.Lea also finds a secret which was hidden from her parents, that she was a twin and her twin sister is no more.
One fine day Lea receives a letter soliciting to facilitate as a biographer from Vida Winter, a mysterious author. Lea had second thoughts but finally accepted her request. Writing Vida Winters biography remained a mystery as there was 22 attempts made by other biography writer who failed to reveal the true story of Vida Winter.
Before reaching Vida Winters place, Lea read all the novels written by Vida. There was some conundrum in one of her novels named “The Thirteenth Tale” were she found only 12 tales despite 13. This intrigued Lea more to know about Vida Winter.
Vida starts with antiquity of Angelfield house, were she grew up. The weird children Charlie and Isabelle. Then comes the uncanny twins of Isabelle, Adeline & Emmeline who creates much more apprehension throughout the story.
There comes the governess who takes care of the entire house. The whole story revolves around the topiary garden, loyal servants, libraries, undesirable death and creepy stuffs.
Will Lea find the true story of Vida Winter? Does being a twin is somewhere related to Vida Winter’s story? Does ghost really exists? Will she be able to remove the mystery knots? Lies the suspense of the story.
About the Book:
I really loved the stories plot, while reading this book I felt creepiness flowing all over me. This book made me realize even words can make us apprehensive rather physically witnessing stuffs.
The pace of this story is very good, but the end would be little disappointed as the expected turning point will not be met. The author starts narrating the story like a fairy tale with giants, ghosts, death, creepiness and a girl disappearing in mist.
There are so many twists which are apprehensive, though all the twist of knots is cleared at the end. You would expect a ghost in this story, and do you want to know the real fact then it’s time for you to choose "The Thirteenth tale" and go forward.
I would rate 🌟🌟🌟🌟 star for this fantastic novel.

Review on "A Cage of Desire by Shuchi Singh Kalra"

About the story:
The story whirls around protagonist "Renu" who is a home maker staying with her two children and her father-in-law (called by her as "Bauji") residing at Lucknow. She is married to Dev for over fifteen years, he works and lives in Sitapur. Everyone would usually work in cities here in his case its vice versa. Bauji is more of an orthodox person who simply finds fault in Renu, as she came from amiss background.

In the little world of Renu lies a secret person named Maya. Yes, Renu's pen name is Maya, she is an author who writes erotic novels revealing passion, love, lust and secret desires. There comes a person named "Arjun" who resides at Renus's place as a tenant, having strong desire for Maya.

Dev's attention was less towards Renu, they hardly speak, and their conversations were too short. He used to visit her during weekends that slowly reduced over a period, and he visited her monthly once.

Gradually Renu's attention was drawn by Arjun, they started loving each other and satisfied their physical needs. He was younger than Renu but, yet age was not an obstacle for their fondness of each other.

Even though she loved Arjun, her rumination about Dev always incised her more, which led her discovering a secret relationship with “Kamini”, who made false pretense claiming herself as Maya towards Dev.

Renu neglected to reveal her identity as an author, as she is from a conservative background and more apprehensive about her family. Her only support was her friend who is a mediator between the publication house and Renu. There are so many twists and turns happens in her life which leaves in her in flood of her own tears.

Will Renu overcomes these hurdles? Will Renu's secret identity will be revealed to the world? Will her love with Arjun survives? Will Dev understand her and change himself? Will she be a successful author? Is she destined to someone else? lies the suspense of the story

About the book:

The author's writing style is too good, and the pacing is apt. You can feel more love, passion, betrayal and strong desire.  All emotions are cooked up together to bring out this alluring novel. The author clearly depicted about how a woman tackled and overcame so many hindrances in her life with her will power. There are so many intense and intimate scenes but, yet the story remained on track and the flow was totally on pace.

I would rate ☆☆☆☆ for this beguile novel.

Review on "Tinkling of the Bell before it Rings by Sonika Shandilya"

Tinkling of the Bell before it rings by Sonika Shandilya is a debut novel.

The story whirls between Jai and Sakshi who falls in love gradually after their unexpected first meet in a theatre.

Their family pictured as a perfect family. While Sakshi wants to become a leading fashion designer, her dad Mr. Ravi is a leading doctor in Hyderabad whereas her mother Anaida works in abroad leaving her family alone.

Do you believe in fate? Yes, Jai manages to find her, he joins as a Store Manager in a boutique shop, were Sakshi was involved in a fashion designer show. Will Sakshi marry Jai? Will Jai become an IPS officer? Will Sakshi's family reunite and have a happy life? lies the suspense of the story.

About the book:
The love between Jai and Sakshi were pure and filled with innocence. You can find a depth in their love and succinct about how they cared and the value they had over each other. The pace of the story is intact. I loved the way, the author narrated her story, you can feel your presence where we travel to the places through the authors narration.

The description about the places, and Sakshi’s designer clothes, accessories were vivid.

Jai's friend Vicky's character faded away in the flow of the story, Anaida’s presence was too little but her character had an emotional touch at the end. The overall story was good. I loved Jai's character more, not because he is the hero of the story but his love towards Sakshi was endless.

You can feel only positivity throughout the story, not much of tragedy or any other essence can be seen.

I would like to rate ☆☆☆☆ for this exemplary novel and recommend for readers who love romance genre.

Review on "Hope and Sunshine by Debasmita Nath Ghosh"

Hope and Sunshine by Debasmita Nath Ghosh is a debut novel.
In one word review we can describe "Hope and Sunshine as an emotion".

About the story:

The story revolves around "Naina Grover" a Punjabi girl from Delhi who works in Kolkata as a Marketing person.
In her company joins a new HR named "Aditya", he is a handsome guy and a friend of her beloved brother "Arjun".

Naina, Aditya & Arjun became so close and enjoyed their life happily. They wandered outside frequently having parties, fun, and relished. The friendship part is more adorable were I felt bit jealous of not having one.

She loved her family so much but departed to Kolkata due to her brother Namy's demise, a navy officer. Her Maasi was so caring and lovable yet she stayed in a separate apartment and visited her cousin brother Arjun & Maasi.

It was Adi who helped Naina in all her sorrows and sufferings, and he became her only "HOPE", and she called him the same. Whereas, for Adi she was his "SUNSHINE" as she was beautiful, glorious and made everyone around her happy. Even Adi's family loved Naina so much.

"Naina" was in love with "Ved", he is from a conservative background and a vegetarian. Ved's mom was suffering from Cancer, their relationship being a long-distance relationship and had many hurdles between them. Naina loved him all through her heart but the reciprocation from Ved was not adequate.

Naina had a hard time in mending her relationship with Ved as his mother was against their propinquity. It was Adi who gave her full confidence to face the hurdles and made her happy

Will Naina cobble her relationship with Ved? Will Ved's mother accepts Naina in marriage with him? Is she destined to marry someone else? Will she be able to overcome from her sorrows? lies the suspense of the story.

About the book:

I had a feeling of jubilation when I read this story. Its more kind of emotion rather than a story. The way the author narrated the tale was very interesting and exemplary.
The pace of the story is good and ecstatic.
I would recommend this book to all who loves "Romance" genre.

I would rate 4/5.

Review on "Sea Prayer by Khaled Hosseni"

Sea Prayer by Khaled hosseni is a poetic micro read.

This book is more of illustrations. The words are short with more meaning hidden inside. It's written in the form of a letter from a father to his son. We can see more emotions and apprehensive thoughts of a father about his son while crossing the sea.

The title of the book gives the entire meaning of the book.
The illustrations by Dan Williams looks adorable.
The author wrote sea prayer based on the incident happened for a Syrian boy "Alan Kurdi" who drowned in Mediterranean Sea when he tried to seek refuge to Europe.
Nothing much can be expected from this short bite.

I would rate ☆☆☆/5.
