Review on "The thirteenth tale by Diane Setterfield"

The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield is a debut novel and a gothic fiction
About the Story:
The story whirls around protagonist Margaret Lea and her research for writing biographies. She lives with her parents and works in a bookshop owned by her father.Lea also finds a secret which was hidden from her parents, that she was a twin and her twin sister is no more.
One fine day Lea receives a letter soliciting to facilitate as a biographer from Vida Winter, a mysterious author. Lea had second thoughts but finally accepted her request. Writing Vida Winters biography remained a mystery as there was 22 attempts made by other biography writer who failed to reveal the true story of Vida Winter.
Before reaching Vida Winters place, Lea read all the novels written by Vida. There was some conundrum in one of her novels named “The Thirteenth Tale” were she found only 12 tales despite 13. This intrigued Lea more to know about Vida Winter.
Vida starts with antiquity of Angelfield house, were she grew up. The weird children Charlie and Isabelle. Then comes the uncanny twins of Isabelle, Adeline & Emmeline who creates much more apprehension throughout the story.
There comes the governess who takes care of the entire house. The whole story revolves around the topiary garden, loyal servants, libraries, undesirable death and creepy stuffs.
Will Lea find the true story of Vida Winter? Does being a twin is somewhere related to Vida Winter’s story? Does ghost really exists? Will she be able to remove the mystery knots? Lies the suspense of the story.
About the Book:
I really loved the stories plot, while reading this book I felt creepiness flowing all over me. This book made me realize even words can make us apprehensive rather physically witnessing stuffs.
The pace of this story is very good, but the end would be little disappointed as the expected turning point will not be met. The author starts narrating the story like a fairy tale with giants, ghosts, death, creepiness and a girl disappearing in mist.
There are so many twists which are apprehensive, though all the twist of knots is cleared at the end. You would expect a ghost in this story, and do you want to know the real fact then it’s time for you to choose "The Thirteenth tale" and go forward.
I would rate 🌟🌟🌟🌟 star for this fantastic novel.
